I am doctoral researcher of Early Modern History at University of Reading, England.
My Wellcome-funded PhD project ‘The Aged Patient in Early Modern England, 1570-1730′ investigates medical understandings of old age, and the experiences of ageing patients and their caregivers. I examine published medical books, doctors’ casebooks, diaries, letters, ballads, recipe books, and other sources to uncover what it was like to suffer from illness and disability in old age during this period.
